Imagine if there was a nationally coordinated effort to contribute foodservice equipment and supplies – as well as funding for scholarships and capital purchases – to those in greatest need on a local, regional and national scale.
The Excell Foundation was formed in 2007 by Excell Foodservice Equipment Dealer Network in partnership with foodservice dealers and vendors nationwide. It brings a new level of social responsibility, corporate good, and community fulfillment from the foodservice industry.
Imagine shelters, schools, hospitals, group homes and orphanages – among countless other beneficiaries – having access at no or low cost to kitchen supplies, tabletop and table service, and countertop equipment for their non-profit.
Won’t you spend some time learning more about the Excell Foundation, some true stories about our impact, and how you too can play a part in this amazing new non-profit program from the foodservice industry?
Being a part of the premier foodservice equipment and supply manufacturers brings with it a far-reaching ability to touch millions of people who benefit from the equipment. No person, however, sees greater value in the equipment, supplies, furniture and products than those who can’t afford it but need it. Our industry can provide new or renovated kitchens and more for soup kitchens, missions, shelters, hospitals, schools and places or worship. With every discounted, at cost or no cost item contributed to these organizations, more operational funds are left for these groups to serve their community. That is local impact. That is making a difference.
In 2007 Excell Foodservice Equipment Dealer Network put its vision into action and incorporated the nonprofit Excell Foundation with the following mission: To fill community requests on a local, regional and national scale through the contribution of foodservice equipment and supplies as well as funding for scholarships, capital purchases and other needs.
Through seed funds from Excell Food Service Equipment Deailer Network and generous contributions of vendors, dealers and other corporations, the Foundation is able to accept nominations for recipients of equipment, supplies or funs on a rolling basis. Full details on the nomination process are found on the Nominate Now tab on this page. More information can be found from the How You Can Help and Donation pages.

The Excell Foundation is discovering partners around the country for making an impact through foodservice contributions. Listed below are two examples of how industry leaders are working with their communities – and where The Excell Foundation can further the impact already made in the local community.
Boulder, CO: Tundra, in collaboration with Special Ties – a local non-profit – heard of the needs of the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless, in particular their kitchen and landscaping. Realizing that the shelter had limited funds for either of these enhancements but both vital for health and safety of the facility, a wish list was collected and then many of the needs were met. In fact, simple donated items included small wares and a griddle. Tundra and Special Ties, however, did not limit the contribution to just those items. In addition to what Michael Lewis of Tundra calls, “fulfilling a need that the shelter always has,” Tundra also donated a refrigerator – clearly a long-term, key donation that alleviated a likely high end capital expense that the Boulder Shelter could not afford.
Springfield, MO: D Cloud and Company, through a long-standing relationship with Developmental Center of the Ozarks (DCO), was there when the Early Child Care and Education program and the Adult Day Center needed the company the most. In 2007, DCO set out to redo its kitchen…in fact, build a new one. What began as a small program serving children with cerebral palsy in borrowed quarters has grown to an agency serving more than 800 infants, children and adults daily with developmental disabilities from southwest Missouri. The needs of the facility outgrew the capability of the kitchen. D Cloud then stepped up as the major contributor – from small wares and disposables to equipment and furnishings. Today, DCO has a shiny new, high functioning, and efficient kitchen for those who need it most.
